Receiving a gift basket is great fun. However making your own, whether for business or personal enjoyment is deeply satisfying. Let your creative side free when making your gift baskets. It's a perfect way of using any skills your already have or you can even learn new crafting skills. In saying that it can be a rather scary task to those who are unsure how to start. Rest assured, it's easy!  Some choices you can have include a gift basket for wine lovers and gift basket of chocolate.

The first thing you must do before doing anything else is to choose a theme for your gift basket. There really aren't any strict rules on what theme this can be. Think about the person's hobbies such as book reading A gift basket consisting of books will hence be a considerate choice. In addition to the books, some chocolate may be nice so that they can devour it whilst reading their books. Or perhaps the person your are gifting the basket to enjoys playing a game of chess... Think of stuffing a gift basket with a miniature magnetized set and arranging the pieces in an interesting pattern.

Once you have completed this you can go onto thinking about the design your basket. Sketch out, on paper or just in your mind, what you'll need to execute your gift basket idea. Make a list of materials, sizes and tools. Now that you have your list you can begin shopping for all that you need. This can be a lot of fun and it needn't be a chore.

A gift basket wouldn't be complete without a basket of course. Essentially, you can buy anything that grabs your attention as long as it's big enough to hold everything you wish to inlcude - a traditional wicker container, an antique coffee can, an ancient toy bucket or a contemporary planter. If you can, try to buy a basket that matches the overall theme you have choosen.

OK, so you've chosen the gifts and the basket, now you'll need to wrap it all up. Cellophane is one excellent choice. However you could also choose wax paper which is great to work with but also adds an extra element of surprise in terms of opening it.
